Police Stations

The first police station in Hollywood was located at 131 S. Cahuenga Ave., which had previously been Hollywood’s City Hall. 

In the 1920s, the City of Los Angeles built a combination police and fire station on Cahuenga Avenue and DeLongpre Ave.  The fire department was located on the ground floor while the police occupied the second floor.  A few years later, when the police needed more space, the city built a new police station on Wilcox Ave., just behind the fire station.  Next door to the police station was one of the city’s emergency hospital.  This continued until the city gave up manning its own emergency hospitals and utilized the many hospitals.  In the 1980s, the police station was torn down and a new one built in its place.
